Hollow & Moss is led by Victor Castillo and Lily Villamizar, a
Davenport-based duo shaped by chemistry, architecture, photography
and a shared affection for quiet plant life.
Victor, a chemical engineer, approaches every piece from the hidden
structure below the surface: substrate, drainage, mineral balance,
humidity and the slow conditions that allow a living object to hold
its atmosphere. Lily, an architect and photographer, shapes the
visible world: proportion, shadow, texture, light and the cinematic
silence of the final composition.
What began as a private ritual of collecting moss, stone, wood and
unusual foliage became a language for interiors. Their work is
sentimental in the quietest way: a memory of forests after rain,
volcanic ground still warm in the dark, and the feeling that a room
can become softer when it contains something alive.
